“I can see straight through you.”
“God damn you, girl, pay attention, your life will end today, you and anything to do with your memory will die off like fall leaves. You will not impact this land one more time.”
“No matter, I will still slither in and out of their minds, I will be seen as the one who showed them what a real life is, who showed them revolution, and a way out of your dominating grasp. Their skins will crawl with the need to uprise, and you fill feel the full force of it.”
The lands of Translucence became empty again and a silence overhung the land, many could not stand the painful memories there any longer, disease spread like wildfire through the weak and depressed, and unlike the previous natural disasters, no one returned. The lands began to grow and populate once more, deer lived happily in the spring fed areas, prairie dogs hopped and skittered across fields and elk bugled in the valleys between the mountains. All seemed so well for Translucence, the weather kept at peaceful bay by its Mother. However, the silence, the void of larger predators was so very tempting that after five years of peaceful riddance of wolves, they were upon the land once more.
This time, two packs did not form, in fact no more than one did. War did not wage between packs, and everything seemed alright. There was an order to this pack; they seemed so in sync, so unified. That was all the work of one Alpha named Ciyro, a dominating and generally emotionless leader. Much like a dictatorship, Ciyro ran his pack with distinct rules, and if not abided it meant death. He knew who you were, where you were and who you were with at all times. The pack hunted as a pack, and each rank ate in the order they were allowed. Ranks were deemed upon those who held the skills or were worthy of such rank, you did your job and you did it well. Training was given to pups on a regular basis for the rank Ciryo saw fit. Repopulation rights were given strictly to Ciryo, himself and few other males, and female’s had no say in the matter. Although his domineering ways seem cruel and unjust, the pack continued to thrive, they stayed healthy and strong.
That wasn’t until one of the pack’s liveliest female’s turned the age of breeding; she had a fiery temper, and a leadership vibe. Ciryo saw this as not a disadvantage to his power, but rather an advantage, and insisted that the female, who was known as Sieera, was to be his and his alone. The concept would be basic, she would be considered his mate and given a slight amount of more power than usual, and no other male was to touch her. Sieera on the other hand, had different plans. She played into Ciryo’s way, however, behind the scenes, in places unknown to those who didn’t follow; Sieera was causing the destruction of the pack. Those whom she saw as willing she would invite into their plans, an escape plan, to evade this military like pack.
When the night came to leave, Sieera gathered everyone under the cover of the dark and in silence they crept away. They came upon their own lands, in which they took residence in overnight, in the morning when Ciryo awoke; it was in a rage to the disappearance. Scouts were sent in search and to spy upon the rogue pack, and in his rage, he ordered their heads be brought back to him. This attack was suspected by Sieera, she understood the consequences of fleeing and knew that he would come for them some time, and so they were ready. Scouts of their own tipped them off to the approaching attack and they were successful in battle. Instead of the heads he wished for, Ciryo’s best warrior’s head was dropped at the territory edge.
Battles continued to wage on between the two packs over some time, both growing immensely in size. It was by quick word that Ciryo found out about Sieera’s recent taking in of a mate, and her ever growing belly. He knew what he had to do, and in the night which should have been filled with joy, as the last pup of the four left Sieera’s womb, the cool winter night filled with their whimpers, Sieera’s mate who stood guard on the den fell dead, and Ciryo had Sieera and her newborns dragged to his lands. It was here that Sieera shared her heartfelt speech in front of all of Ciryo’s pack members. The pack was commanded to slowly torture and destroy Sieera, and her pups were killed. Her and the pup’s deaths were met with rage, Ciryo offered safety to those of Sieera’s pack that came back to him. That promise was not held, and they would be forever known as traitors.
However, in the den beside its father’s body, a young pup whined for warmth, for its mother. In those moments, it was snatched from the den, ever so lovingly. Nothing was ever known of this pup again.
You now have a choice. Everyone who comes to Translucence can come by willingness or by force to Ciryo’s pack, there are a few loner’s permitted to roam the lands but not very few. Will you start an uprising of your own? Will you strive to please your Alpha? Will you change the history of the Vahva pack? It’s up to you.[/sup]
