Death. Death lying all around her. Each crunch, each step upon the packed dirt brought her closer to home once more. Home. Such a word had once been foreign to her, under the rule of Ciryo, yet, now she knew the difference. Now she knew whom she could trust and whom she couldn't. Now she knew where her loyalties truly lay.
"A fool, Ciryo. Especially one if you think I would fall for your games as easily as before." A soft growl slipped from between her black lips, and as she halted, her pelt rippled, the muscles tensing as she remembered the torture of watching the price her parent's had paid from crossing the cruel Alpha. Her icy gaze swept over the dead landscape, the growl softly growing as she did. Her anger, her fear which she normally kept hidden, was slowly seeping past the barriers that she had always kept so strong.
A sudden movement, the white snow of her coat blurring as she whipped around, teething darting forward to rip through the dead wood of the tree closet to her. Each time she tightened her jaw, the more of her anger seeped out. Soon she could taste the metallic liquid within her mouth and knew she had scratched her gums against the rough wood. But by this point her emotions had slipped away.
Slowly relaxing her jaw, Athena stepped away from the fallen tree, now split in half out of her anger. A slow, calming breath slowly slipped from her small frame, the breath shaking her entire body. 'No, you will not get the best of me again.' Her time with Vahva had been brief, but she would not forget the terror, the slavery anytime soon. Nor would she forget the recent game she had been forced to play. Another test sent by the great brute himself.
"Yes, old friend, and look where it has gotten you...another warrior of yours dead." She said softly, her head dipping low as she glanced behind her over her shoulder, a single drop of blood slipping from between the black lines and falling to the dark earth beneath the worn pads. Another sigh slowly slipped from her body as she slowly lifted her head once more, her gaze now tired and weary.
"I tire of this fighting...Will it ever end?" Athena knew she was alone, that she was speaking to herself, but she had been wanting to voice such a fear for weeks now. She looked behind her again then slowly turned back toward the direction she was going. Her head slowly lifted higher, her tongue darting out briefly to clean away the dark liquid tainting her features. Her coat seemed to shimmer in the brief amount of sunlight filtering between the clouds from above, and for a brief moment, she seemed to glow where she stood. She appeared to be an angel.
'No, I won't let it go on like this.' The magical moment passed, and after a soft huff she was off again, the pads crunching softly once more, her stride slowly slipping from a mere walk to the quick pace of a lope. Her legs stretched far into the air before her, her pelt whipping about her form as she dashed across the open land, her fear and anger carried away like leaves on the wind.

Orange brown eyes swept the area in dull appraisal, mind washing over the options that he was being met with. Life, as it was, proved to be the most fickle game. Tossing cruelty and kindness his way without much sense of mercy or balance. While Veles thrived on the chaos and it proved easy to work out, it was just one step after another, surveying the ground knowing one wrong step could be one’s very last. The concept of death hardly fazed him, yet at the same time he wished sincerely to avoid it. It would be a pity for heads to roll while consent was lacking. Although the male loved a good blood bath, there was no doubt about that. He was joyous about the fact that he had slipped away from the nonsense to clean the last of the blood out of his pale coat. Not that it helped much. The pink tint would probably remain for a while, until he properly threw himself into a nearby water source in the cold, winter-nearing temperatures.
The farther the large white wolf slipped away, the more tired his facade got. It was an effortless mask, and the more he wandered from the grounds, the more he was sure trouble awaited him. Properly, the male had requested a brief leave in front of others, hiding his intentions. There was no need for wonder, there was no need for questioning. As settled the illusion was of a good natured male, obedient and ruthless, loyal to the core. Was he though? The thought was one that would ponder those gifted with the consumption of their thoughts for decades. Long legs carried him forward, the scent of blood filling his nose off to the right, and ears swiveled. Saccharine but twisted laugh beckoned from his chest and poured through his open jaws. Oh this was marvelous! Death was everywhere, like a warm laughing blanket. The male cackled gleefully, though he paused as his ears picked on the faint sound of the snow crunching far off from where the blood called to his nose.
Fascinating.
The male started forward easily, ruffling his fur lightly as eyes peered around the dark brush, slowly dragging himself out of hiding. Not that it was easy to hide someone of his stature. But as his eyes swept over the area, the offending tree that had obviously done some damage he sighed. Another one bit the dust. Where was Ciryo finding these weak warriors? Or were they all for the most part of his loins? Laughter bubbled up in his chest, and the male coughed out a barking laugh. Oh there was surely nothing wrong with mocking the ruling supreme was there? The king was in his kingdom, and Veles was the obedient, loyal little servant. Most certainly Veles was forced under someone superior, was he not? Well, the jury remained out in the air on that one. For the moment, the winning side was the side the male was on. It hardly looked it however, with all these casualities building up.
Yet, as the male started forward after the tracks, the sigh pushed through his broad chest. The scent that he trailed was a female, and his mind raced with hopefulness that he knew her, or even better, that close females she had spoken with knew of him. Veles was always put on a pedestal by the word of mouth among the females. His kindness toward them, his seemingly attentiveness, the blatant attempt to raise the slave’s enjoyment levels and try to make them appreciate life more was well known. Sure, the males around gave him a hard time about it, but a good icy glare and a scuffle subdued them. This was his game, and he was not to be played off as simply a weak and worthless when he was clearly wiser than most of the other bumbling idiots.
While the male smirked, his eyes slipped over the small tracks that called him forth. Finding the little female and seeing the fury, perhaps getting in a good scuffle certainly appealed to him. On the other hand, if she could be soothed down from the rage of the kill by him, all the better. So with a strong snap of his head, ears pushing forward, he followed after the tracks. Long stride pulling himself out into the open soon enough, though eyes clearly looked poised with thought. Was he getting into a mess? There was a thought the male had clearly not considered. No matter, he was accustomed to being in a mess.
When he found the light creature in the distance, loping along the open grounds, the male's tongue slipped from his lips as his jaws parted and hung open. Ah! There she was, not far away at all. Where was she going though? What was the point in her trying to get away? The male nearly offered a canine purr at the thought of a good chase, but as he let out a short bark, snapping his teeth together. If he caught her after a long chase, she would be most unhappy with his excitement. If she slowed now, well, perhaps he could reign himself in.
.Veles&Swagger . No one wakes up alone, not when you are so far from home. This is my pretty boy swag.
