He was all alone, there was no one at his side for the moment because they were all off in their own world. What was he to do when there was nothing but boredom floating on the breeze? Autumn was here and the air that ruffled the male's coat was somewhat chilly. Keahi hated the cold, but at least it wasn't that freezing yet. Because of this fact, the Rebel Alpha Male was walking along the sandy beaches of Madidus. The rest of the pack had been sent on various assignments so he was left to his own devices. Some were hunting, others preparing dens, and some surveying the area. No, despite the fact that Keahi was an Alpha Male, he had no secure borders. He once ran with the Vahva wolves, but he'd branched off and created his shabby band of rebels. Though they were a scrubby band, he cared so much for them anyways. They were his family, and it was his duty to protect and guide them. Now that they got their orders for the day, Keahi roamed freely. The male padded swiftly through the sand, feeling it on his toes and paw pads. Thus far the rebel lifestyle had treated him and his family decently well. They hadn't gone hungry or contracted any diseases and Keahi was happy. As the male walked forward, his tail waived behind his back. The rounded ears on the wolf's ears rotated, for despite his lackluster appearance, he was still alert. You never know what could happen.

The sun was high in the air, yet not even that warmth could cut through the chilly breeze that swept across the beach. He’d been left alone again; the males last companion deciding to join a devilish pack that he could never stand with. However, today was a new day and he wouldn’t let that get to him now. He padded along an invisible path, light prints left by someone. “They have to lead to more,” he said silently to himself. His mind ran through what may happen, and the worst nearly made him turn and run the other way. This beach held some bit of safety for him, each boulder creating a welcomed blending place. Lately, though, with the chill of the cold seasons coming in, he’d found it a bit to cold with the salty air being as unforgiving and bitter cold as anywhere else, if not worse. He settled on a decision that would settle his curiosity and fear. He followed the prints as far as they led back. Nose at the ground, there was a stillness in the air that was undeniable. Another is close, he could tell by the scent left trailing on the earth. He padded closer to the source of the scent, strategically downwind. The silence in the air was disturbed, ‘breathing’, Rivvet thought to himself. Someone else was very close, but where? The salt in the air was thick, covering most of the scent left by others. He hadn’t experienced this type of terrain in so long, he’d forgotten how to track without the help of his nose He peered out, and a short distance away he saw a male. The silver male seemed an intimidating site, bigger then Rivvet himself, but not more muscled. Always thinking himself as the smallest, leanest male wolf he’d ever met. The question stood and overwhelmed his mind, ‘is it safe?’ Was it safe to approach the mysterious male? Was he rabid, or protecting over others? What if he’s friendly? Staying low, near one of the large boulders, blending with it nicely. He watched the male, whom had begun approaching Rivvet unknowingly. ‘Letting him pass and then making a presence known would put him on guard, possibly even attack. Act as if you didn’t notice him, when he’s closer make noise.’ Just as he’d thought and planned, the male was within hearing distance and Rivvet began making a small noticeable clamor. He sniffed at the ground, and nudged a few rocks around. Had the male take notice?

Keahi was enjoying his little stroll on the beach very much. He had time alone with his thoughts and he could explore the mysterious lands at a leisurely pace. Step after step lead him to an undetermined destination. This particular male wasn't in any hurry to go anywhere and it was nice, he must admit. That didn't mean that he didnt cherish his role as Alpha however, for not many got that privilege. But he did need time to collect his thoughts once in a while. Are the scouts doing well? How about the hunters? Will the temporary dens be satisfactory enough for everyone, including the mothers to come? Winter was drawing nearer and nearer, and cubs were sure to arrive with the oncoming spring. Would they live past their first days?
Yes, they would. Excellence was the only option. Everything would be ok. Keahi had to soothe his own worries momentarily, but they dissipated with the wind.
His pack was thriving partly because of how diligent they were in their work, and how strong their bond was. The hunters were very cohesive together, and the scouts quite stealthy, and it didn't take much effort to build a den. Even a neanderthal could build a den with his eyes closed. The grayish male had nothing to worry about for that second. This freedom was simply divine. He was learning to balance his work and his freedom evenly. But that freedom was short-lived today.
While on his uncharted journey, a choppy howl caught his attention. It was one of his own, Nicholas, the scout. The howl that was sent up was one of no alarm, just an acknowledgement of another nearby. And then Keahi heard for himself, the shifting of the rocks. The male stopped and sniffed briefly before raising his lips back, baring his teeth. Newcomers rarely made a good impression with this male. "Show yourself rogue,"[/b] Keahi almost spat. Though Keahi and his pack were little more than rogues themselves, this male wasn't apart of them.[/sup]
